Our Mission

Amamor Women's Foundation aims to be a catalyst for the prevention and elimination of intimate partner violence and femicide in Canada by utilizing a human rights approach and investing in social innovation interventions.

Our Approach

Under international human rights law, it is well established that domestic and family violence is a violation of human rights, with grave and far-reaching repercussions for victims, survivors and their children.  The safety and needs of victims and witnesses must be at the heart of all protective measures adopted.

Amamor Women's Foundation provides grants to registered charities working to reduce domestic violence and femicide in Canada through a participatory grant-making approach. Grants may be used to support research and development of pilot projects as well as the initiation and implementation of innovative, evidence- based, trauma- informed interventions.

Our Safe At Home Fund is our first participatory grant-making fund to provide grants to projects focused on developing and piloting innovative solutions that support victims of intimate partner violence to stay safe at home.

We are very grateful to all of our donors. Together, we are making a difference!
